Paul Bernard Quinters (June 11, 1967 – Dec 5, 1993) was only 26 years old when he was stabbed to death. We do not know why the argument started. We do not know what was said.

We do not know whether either Paul or his friend knew or recognized the attacker. We do not know why the attacker only stabbed Paul and not his friend too.

We do not know at what point the woman who accompanied the attacker, knew a fight was imminent but, she left the man’s side to get the car in which they both got away.

And as the years go by, we still don’t know why this young man had to die.

What do we know?

On December 4, 1993, at about 1130pm, Paul Bernard Quinters (26) was walking with a male friend across the parking lot of Bronco Bill’s Night Club on 8505 Broadway, San Antonio, Texas.

As they walked across that parking lot, the two suspects listed below were also walking across the parking lot. Somehow, Paul and his friend got into a verbal confrontation with the male suspect.

Then, Paul and the male suspect started to fight. The male suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed Paul multiple times. I have not read anywhere that the knife was found. Also, I don’t know any details about the type of knife, depth of wounds, how many times Paul was stabbed, which stab wound was fatal, etc.

The male suspect then got into the station wagon which was driven by his female companion. They fled while Paul died on his way to the hospital as a result of those stab wounds.

Dad

I was contacted by Paul’s family. They want nothing but to know the truth. What happened and why? As you can see on the grave stone, Paul was a young father. The picture on the left comes from his family.

An interesting detail from the family: that parking lot that night was not empty. They described it as ‘tons of people around.’

They hope that some day, some people who saw what happened, will speak up and tell the authorities what they saw.

The head shot from Paul Bernard Quinters was taken from the San Antonio Police Department’s website. I reduce the glare to bring out Paul’s features.

The picture of Paul’s grave was found on the website A Billion Graves.

Author Notes

Since 2009, I write about unsolved cases that need renewed media attention. I only do research and leave active investigations to the authorities.

My posts cover homicides, missing and unidentified people, wrongful convictions, and forensics as related to unsolved cases.

On book reviews: I only review select works of true crime, crime fiction, and historical fiction/mysteries. The stories have to fit my website's theme, tone, and research. It is my prerogative to not review a book. Please check the FAQ page for more.

My databases are free to the public. Cases are sorted by the victim’s last name.

If you have any questions about my website please check the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page, the About page, and the tabs in both menu bars. If you cannot find the answers there, please contact me.
