Norvel Robert Nelson III: remains found

March 11, 2022 By Alice

Norvel Robert Nelson IIIOn March 10, 2022 the remains of Norvel Robert “Bobby” Nelson III were found on a private property in northern Washington County, said the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

Bobby had been missing since January 2012 under suspicious circumstances. I wrote about that here.

“The sheriff’s office stated no further information is being released at this time.”

The Case

Norvel Robert Nelson III (nickname Bobby) was last seen on Jan 5, 2012 in Mineral Point, Washington County, Missouri. He was on his way to pick up some of his wife’s belongings that were in a trailer where at some point, she stayed. In my post, I list the concerns I have in this case.

There are many unanswered questions in this case. It was quickly entered into the NamUs database (case number #MP14025) on Feb 28, 2012 after he went missing. At that time, Bobby was 37 years old. He was also legally blind and had short term memory loss. His eyesight did not necessarily rule out driving.

Contact Information

Rest in peace, Norvel Robert Nelson III.

Author Notes

Since 2009, I write about unsolved cases that need renewed media attention. I only do research and leave active investigations to the authorities.

My posts cover homicides, missing and unidentified people, wrongful convictions, and forensics as related to unsolved cases.

On book reviews: I only review select works of true crime, crime fiction, and historical fiction/mysteries. The stories have to fit my website's theme, tone, and research. It is my prerogative to not review a book. Please check the FAQ page for more.

My databases are free to the public. Cases are sorted by the victim’s last name.

If you have any questions about my website please check the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page, the About page, and the tabs in both menu bars. If you cannot find the answers there, please contact me.

Thank you,

Alice de Sturler
