Attorney Norman Yatooma is dropping most of the defendants in the Tamara Greene lawsuit.
Yatooma is dropping Christine Beatty, Ella Bully-Cummings, Cara Best, Harold Cureton and Craig Schwartz from the suit. He says the lawsuit now only includes former Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick and the City of Detroit. According to Yatooma, he dropped the defendants to get the case to trial quicker.

Yatooma is suing for Greene’s children. They’re hoping this move will lead to a resolution in the $150 million case. The trial is to start in January, 2011.
Tamara Greene was shot to death in a drive-by shooting back in 2003. She was an exotic dancer who was believed to be at a rumored – but never proven – party at the Manoogian Mansion when Kwame Kilpatrick was Mayor of Detroit.
On April 30, 2003, Tamara Greene was killed in a drive-by shooting in Detroit, MI. She was in her car with her boyfriend Eric Mitchell. Mitchell survived the shooting. The Detroit News wrote Greene was in the driver’s seat and they were in front of Mitchell’s house. They had just left the club where she worked as a stripper. A white SUV turned the corner with a man holding a pistol out the window. Mitchell described him as: “light-skinned” just like the short man with whom he fought a few weeks before. Curiously, Mitchell “ducked for cover into the foot-well of the Buick Skylark but he said nothing to Greene.” The case remains unsolved.
