Season’s Greetings

December 24, 2014 By Alice

This season of festivities and joy is bitter-sweet knowing that some loved ones are missing from our table.

Some families lost their loved ones and had hoped to get some answers this year.

Some did, yes.

But progress is slow and there is no telling which cases will get answers in the New Year.

I wish that I knew exactly what to say to wish these family members well for the New Year while at the same time acknowledge their pain and express sympathy. But I am not that gifted.

A dear friend of mine, Evie, is. She wrote the following poem that comforted me after my dad passed away.

A guardian angel came to me, one night when I was sleeping,
I felt him gently wipe away the tears I had been weeping,
I felt his heart caress my soul with tender loving care,
When I awoke and looked around, nobody was there.

From the bottom of our hearts, we thank all our readers. You made this blog what it is today.

We thank all the victim family members for contacting us.

We thank all the law enforcement officers and lawyers who entrusted materials and thoughts to us.

Thank you to all the readers who emailed thoughts, links to newspaper articles, and photography.

Thank you to fellow crime bloggers for your collaboration and to our wonderful guest bloggers who added their unique content to this blog.

All the best for the New Year.

Yours,

Jacques & Alice

Author Notes

Since 2009, I write about unsolved cases that need renewed media attention. I only do research and leave active investigations to the authorities.

My posts cover homicides, missing and unidentified people, wrongful convictions, and forensics as related to unsolved cases.

On book reviews: I only review select works of true crime, crime fiction, and historical fiction/mysteries. The stories have to fit my website's theme, tone, and research. It is my prerogative to not review a book. Please check the FAQ page for more.

My databases are free to the public. Cases are sorted by the victim’s last name.

If you have any questions about my website please check the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page, the About page, and the tabs in both menu bars. If you cannot find the answers there, please contact me.

Thank you,

Alice de Sturler
