Today’s CCLiveChat was a great hour of “getting the gang back together” as well as updating everyone on cold cases worldwide!
Joe Giacalone, a retired NYPD Detective Sergeant, had some fantastic news considering his book: the New Jersey Civil Service Commission has made his book required reading for police promotional exams! Congratulations, Joe!
Joe Giacalone held many prestigious positions during his more than 20 year career. Most of his career was dedicated to conducting and supervising major criminal investigations.
Joe was the Executive Officer of the 110th Precinct Detective Squad in Queens and the Commanding Officer of the Bronx Cold Case Squad. He was responsible for managing thousands of cold case homicides and missing persons cases. While working in the NYPD, he found the time to obtain a Master of Arts in Criminal Justice with a Specialty in Crime and Deviance from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in 2005.
We started with updates on the Long Island Murders, Holly Bobo, Willeke Dost and of course, Zeigler‘s DNA hearing.
Most importantly, we have decided to go back to a weekly schedule. Yup, I know! Starting Jan 6, 2012, we will have again a weekly Cold Case Live Chat on Twitter from noon-1pm EST with recaps appearing on DCC later on.
