Recap #CCLiveChat April 13, 2012

April 13, 2012 By Alice

sum it up #cclivechatFor this #cclivechat, we join Richard Case at the Fingerprint Society’s Annual Conference. Richard began his career in 1994 working at the South Wales Police Fingerprint Bureau. Richard was able to complete his training and qualified as an expert in early 2000.

In May 2001, Richard was employed by Greater Manchester Police (GMP) where he has undertaken major crime casework as well as volume crime and has given oral evidence at court on several occasions, on offences ranging from vehicle theft to murder.

In 2009, Richard left policing for a national role as a Subject Matter Expert for the Forensics21 Programme of the National Policing Improvement Agency (NPIA) which was transferred to CAST in October 2012.

He sits on the committee of the Chartered Society of Forensic Science’s Fingerprint Division. This is a position that I once held with The Fingerprint Society before it was absorbed into the CSoFS.

Richard is part of the Business Change Team of NPIA’s (National Policing Improvement Agency) Forensics21 Programme.

Richard has been a member/fellow of The Fingerprint Society since 1994 and been a committee member (periodically) since 1995, and has also held the position of secretary.

On behalf of The Society, Richard has organised the 2001 Annual Conference held in Cardiff, Wales; and is also a member of the 2009 Conference Organising Team at Manchester. You can follow him on Twitter. His blog is here.

The verbatim thread is below.

Cheers!

Author Notes

Since 2009, I write about unsolved cases that need renewed media attention. I only do research and leave active investigations to the authorities.

My posts cover homicides, missing and unidentified people, wrongful convictions, and forensics as related to unsolved cases.

On book reviews: I only review select works of true crime, crime fiction, and historical fiction/mysteries. The stories have to fit my website's theme, tone, and research. It is my prerogative to not review a book. Please check the FAQ page for more.

My databases are free to the public. Cases are sorted by the victim’s last name.

If you have any questions about my website please check the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page, the About page, and the tabs in both menu bars. If you cannot find the answers there, please contact me.

Thank you,
