In the CBC newspaper from December 11, 2025 we finally get the answer to the question: who killed Christine Prince in 1982?
Kenneth Smith’s DNA was the link between the murders of Christine Prince, Gracelyn Greenidge, and Claire Samson. The Toronto Police and the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) held a joint press conference last Thursday.
From CBC: “The three women were killed in separate incidents between 1982 and 1997, Deputy Chief Robert Johnson of Toronto police said. Prince was killed in 1982, Samson in 1983 and Greenidge in 1997.”
Sadly, Kenneth Smith will never face trial. He passed away in 2019. He was 72 years old.
The three women did not know each other. The only thing they had in common was Smith’s DNA.
There may be more cases to look into as per the press conference. Police made clear that they will keep searching if Smith is tied to other cases.
For more details, please read Ethan Lang’s piece (link at the top of the post) in the CBC. If I find more details related to these cases, I will update the database accordingly.
Rest in peace, Christine Prince, Gracelyn Greenidge, and Claire Samson.
