Antonella Mattina on News12

November 15, 2025 By Alice

Gary Stymiloski, Beverly Capone, and Antonella Mattina/Grid AdSOn November 15, News12 reporter Tara Rosenblum aired a new Crime Files episode about murderer Alex Mengel. The episode starts and ends with Antonella Mattina.

Interviews

Rosenblum interviewed family members of Alex Mengel’s victims and law enforcement. We see Pamela Capone, the daughter of Beverly Capone, Carmine Famiglietti, David Paul, Leo Mattina, and several others.

The episode sheds a new light on serial killer Alex Mengel who is responsible for the murders of Westchester Police Officer Gary Stymiloski and IMB employee Beverly Capone.

Antonella Mattina

Antonella Mattina disappeared on July 16, 1984. She was twelve years old. Her remains were found in a shallow grave on Thanksgiving, 1987. Just like Beverly Capone, she had been stabbed multiple times in her chest.

Many people are still hard at work to get final answers in the case of Antonella Mattina. For a good overview of these three cases, please watch this episode of News12. The content is not visually or audibly graphic however, it is not easy to describe or express verbally how these murders took place.

Five Women

Do you know these 5 women? Pictures found in possessions of Alex Mengel

Note that Alex Mengel had photography in his possession of five women. I made a grid but have not altered their images.

David Paul is still trying to find out their identities. He is afraid that these women too were victims of Alex Mengel.

Thirty-eight Anniversary

This Thanksgiving, it is thirty-eight years ago that Antonella’s remains were found. Her parents are still alive. They are 82 and 85 now. They deserve to finally know the truth.

Author Notes

Since 2009, I write about unsolved cases that need renewed media attention. I only do research and leave active investigations to the authorities.

My posts cover homicides, missing and unidentified people, wrongful convictions, and forensics as related to unsolved cases.

On book reviews: I only review select works of true crime, crime fiction, and historical fiction/mysteries. The stories have to fit my website's theme, tone, and research. It is my prerogative to not review a book. Please check the FAQ page for more.

My databases are free to the public. Cases are sorted by the victim’s last name.

If you have any questions about my website please check the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page, the About page, and the tabs in both menu bars. If you cannot find the answers there, please contact me.

Thank you,

Alice de Sturler
