1) What is your most favourite part of the day?
Morning – I enjoy waking up to a brand new day, knowing anything is possible.
2) Why did you decide to study law? Which lectures stand out for excellence in teaching?
My decision to pursue law stemmed from an avid interest in Law as a profession, and as a field of great importance to society. However, most importantly it was my childhood dream to become a lawyer.
There were 3 main lectures that I enjoyed thoroughly while on my undergrad (Contract law (core module), Intellectual Property and Sports Law (both optional)). However, in terms of teaching I would have to say, contract law. It’s not only challenged you to think outside the box but requires a lot of skill and understanding. I was lucky enough to have an excellent tutor, who inspired me enough to do my dissertation on this particular module. (Title: CONTRACT (RIGHTS OF THIRD PARTIES) ACT 1999: THE IMPACT ON THE DOCTRINE OF PRIVITY)
3) The profession of your childhood dreams?
Ever since I can remember, I have always wanted to become a lawyer – It was the one profession that had stood out and made me realise that I could do my bit for society and help put away the ‘baddies’. However, I soon grew up and realised that nothing is ever that ‘black and white’.
4) Tell us about your most embarrassing experiences in a restaurant, opening a bottle of wine, or do-it-yourself projects. Pick one and tell all!
I have many embarrassing stories that I could tell you. The list is endless. I can’t seem to think of any such stories relating to a restaurant, so I will tell you my most embarrassing.
Hmm … my most embarrassing experience would have to be going to A&E because my local doctors did not have the suitable equipment to remove the tip of a cotton bud (Q-tip) that was lodged in my ear canal. The doctor at A&E found it all rather hilarious!
5) Have you ever dozed off during a lecture or meeting?
No. I find it impossible to sleep anywhere other than my own bed.
6) Something you always wanted to learn but never did?
I have always wanted to learn how to play the piano. I was lucky enough to learn a little while in school but it was never done properly. Oh, I have also wanted to learn how to box (strange sport for a girl) but it keeps you fit and it’s great for ‘self-defence’. It is never too late to learn.
7) If you could trade places with a cartoon character for one day, who would that be?
Bat women a.k.a. Batman (I would quite like to drive the batmobile).
