Jennifer Lynn Wyant was last seen on June 28, 1980. There isn’t much online about Jennifer that gives us a clear timeline of her case, her family life with parents and/or siblings, her work, career, education, sports, etc. This makes it extremely difficult to write a post.
Case of the Month
I hope that by making Jennifer Lynn Wyant the Case of the Month for April, we get more media exposure for her. Please help expand her digital footprint and share this case online. It is a very confusing cases and I have so many questions, here goes:
Exact location
The papers state she “disappeared from her residence at the Tanglewood Apartments on Harding Place, Nashville, Tennessee.” However, I cannot find whether we know that she was inside her own apartment before she went missing. Maybe she was somewhere outside or in the parking lot. That is where police found her car.
Her car
I have not found in the public domain what police found in her car such as personal belongings, finger prints, DNA, etc. Was the car damaged? Was the seat right for her height? What about the odometer? What was her last mileage before servicing the car? Anything on the tires?
Personal life
It isn’t clear whether Jennifer lived alone, had a roommate, a lover, or even whether she ever felt threatened or scared alone. Did she have a job, was she a student, did she frequent certain places such as a gym, library, or coffee shop? Did anyone else disappear around the same time? She was 21 years old when she vanished so she had to have a certain routine, circle of friends, etc.
The day she vanished
There are rumors that she went to a party, was or was not accompanied there, might have gotten a ride to the party, might have walked, etc. Nothing is substantiated.
The apartment
I don’t know whether anything in her apartment hinted at a struggle, whether any bags were packed, or whether anything was stolen. How long did she live there? Did her neighbors hear anything out of the ordinary? Did she have mail delivered there or at a PO Box? Did she pay her rent on time?
Her finances
Has anyone used her bank account since she went missing? Did she have credit cards? If so, were the last purchases normal shopping behavior or not?
Identification papers
Did Jennifer have a passport? If so, where is it? Has it been used? I read online her driver’s license was found near a building site. I wish I had that in a newspaper article or confirmed on the Nashville Police’s website.
Identification
Jennifer is white with brown hair and brown eyes. She has no known tattoos or scars. Her date of birth is December 03, 1958. If alive, she will turn 60 this year. Jennifer is 63 inches tall (5.25 feet) and has a slender figure. Her dental records and DNA are available through NamUs.

In the series “Case of the Month” I highlight old cold cases. These posts are not an in-depth analysis and often more information can be found online and in newspaper archives. The goal of these posts is just to get the cases back in the spotlights, to get people talking again, and if anything to make sure that we do not forget the victims. Just because their cases are cold does not mean that we can forget about them.
If you have any thoughts about Jennifer Lynn Wyant’s disappearance I urge you to post them on your own social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, Google Plus, etc. Every time we mention Jennifer Lynn Wyant’s name online we enhance her digital footprint.
