Manhunter’s Mountain by Wayne D. Dundee. After hearing very sad news yesterday, I could not fall asleep so I decided to pick up a short story to help distract my mind.
David Cranmer and I have been connected on Twitter for some time with me teasing him to make his “Cash Lamarie” series available for Nook. I knew that Cranmer writes under the pen name Edward Grainger but what I did not know was that he generously allows other authors to feature Cash Laramie in their stories!
Manhunter’s Mountain is written by Wayne D. Dundee and features Cash Laramie, a US Marshall, who rides into town searching for Lobo Ames. Getting Ames results in the saloon burning down and from there on the story takes you into the mountains and beyond.
It was refreshing to read about investigations as they were done in the Wild West and all the issues involved in prisoner’s transportation. It showed me what investigators then had to consider and one of those things is something that I will not be able to forget quickly.
Little Red made me proud and to read how her character evolved, was fantastic!
Thank you, David, for sending me this book. Wayne, outstanding job. I will be looking for more of Cash.
Two thumbs up!
